Welcome to Counselling Psychology Stavanger, supporting you and your family to learn, grow and thrive!

I am Dr Jude Nielsen, a UK trained and qualified Chartered Counselling Psychologist and teacher.  In 2012 I moved from London to Stavanger, Norway, where I now work supporting the international, English speaking community.  I provide a range of psychological and educational services, including counselling for individuals and couples; talks, courses and workshops; educational and psychological assessment.

As a Counselling Psychologist I integrate psychological theory and research with therapeutic practice, to inform the different areas of my work.  So whether I am working therapeutically with an individual or a couple, running a workshop on developing parenting skills or working with children with learning difficulties, my work is always informed by research evidence and best practice and by the values most important to me - compassion, commitment and care, so that everybody I work with can learn, grow and thrive.

Learn

I am always striving to learn and improve.  I love to find new resources and learn about new ideas and to share these with the people I work with and the wider community.  Both as a psychologist and a teacher I enjoy supporting people to learn, whether that be a child reading a story, an adult understanding something new about themselves, helping a couple to learn a new way to support each other or a parent a new way of listening and talking with their child.

Grow

I believe that everybody has the capacity for growth and development, and that with the right support from somebody who can listen, be patient, compassionate and genuine, everybody can grow to realise their potential.

Thrive

I believe that with such growth people are empowered to live positive, fulfilling lives where they can thrive and support others around them to thrive.
